Introduced in 2017, in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the PSC Scholarship (Medicine/Dentistry) nurtures and develops the next generation of leaders in the public healthcare sector.
Applicants may only apply after embarking on their undergraduate degrees, up to the penultimate year of their degrees.
Eligibility & Criteria
When can I apply?
Applicants must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in Medicine or Dentistry programmes at the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, or Duke-NUS Medical School and must not be in the final year of studies.

Applicants must:
Be a Singapore Citizen
Demonstrate Strong Leadership Qualities and Potential
Present themselves as well-rounded individuals, possessing good academic and non-academic records.
What are the academic requirements?
GCE A-levels; or
International Baccalaureate; or
NUS High School Diploma; or
Polytechnic Diploma with merit; or
Other high school diploma or equivalent; and
At least one year of university results.
Application can be made after your first year, but before the final year of your undergraduate studies.
You must be undertaking an undergraduate degree in Medicine or Dentistry.
Where and what can I study?
PSC Scholarship (Medicine/Dentistry) recipients may only study in Singapore, reading Medicine or Dentistry at local Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
Value of Award
Cost of Degree
Tuition fees and other compulsory charges incurred before the award will be back paid.
Allowances
Maintenance allowances will be paid from the point of award.
Development Programmes
PSC Scholarship (Medicine/Dentistry) recipients will have opportunities to participate in various development programmes, such as healthcare induction courses, internships at MOH, MOH Holdings and public healthcare institutions, and networking events involving key healthcare professionals. This would also include PSC development programmes.

Career Pathway
PSC Scholarship (Medicine/Dentistry) holders are groomed for leadership roles in both MOH HQ and public healthcare clusters/and institutions. They may pursue their careers in Healthcare Administration (i.e. policy roles in MOH, administrative leadership roles in the hospitals) or take on medical professional appointments (specialist or non-specialist track) in the healthcare institutions based on their aspirations, interests and performance.
Scholarship holders will have opportunities to participate in various developmental programmes organised by MOH Holdings and MOH HQ. They may look forward to meeting and networking with scholarship holders and leaders from other healthcare disciplines during milestone events such as the Healthcare Scholars’ Induction Camp and Induction Programme.
Additionally, they will also be assigned a scholarship officer from MOHH and mentor from MOH/Public Healthcare Institution who will partner them as they progress in their academic and career journeys.
