The PSC Scholarship (Foreign Service) is awarded to outstanding individuals who have a clear interest in a career in the Foreign Service.
Applicants are welcome to apply prior to pursuing their undergraduate degrees or up until the penultimate year of their undergraduate degrees.

When can I apply?
Applicants are welcome to apply prior to pursuing their undergraduate degrees (referred to as ‘pre-university applicants’) or up until the penultimate year of their undergraduate degrees (referred to as ‘mid-term applicants’).

Demonstrate Strong Leadership Qualities and Potential
Present themselves as well-rounded individuals, possessing good academic and non-academic records.

You may apply prior to receiving your final examination results. A provisional scholarship offer may be made if you are found suitable, subject to confirmation upon release of final results. |

Where and what can I study?
PSC Scholarship (Foreign Service) recipients may study overseas, in countries that are relevant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Scholarship holders can pursue a wide range of subjects in non-English-speaking countries such as China, France, Germany, or Japan; including the United Kingdom and United States of America (subject to MFA’s and PSC’s approval).
Value of Award
Cost of Degree
Tuition fees and other approved charges. For overseas degrees, return airfare will be provided. For mid-term candidates, tuition and other compulsory fees incurred before the award will be back paid.
Allowances
Maintenance and other allowances. For mid-term candidates, allowances will only be paid from the point of award.
Development Programmes
While abroad, scholarship holders will be assigned a mentor at an Overseas Mission who will support and guide them. Scholarship holders will also undergo internships – one in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Headquarters and another at an Overseas Mission, to gain insights into MFA’s work. Sponsorship will also be provided for foreign language learning to prepare scholarship holders for future postings.

Career Pathway
Upon graduation, scholarship holders will be emplaced on the Public Service Leadership Programme and take up the role of a Foreign Service Officer (FSO) (Political and Economic).
