• Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents who intend to take up citizenship
• Outstanding academic results - GCE 'A' Levels (with at least 10 academic units), International Baccalaureate (IB) or Polytechnic Diploma (with Merit) or equivalent
• Good performance in National Service
• Good CCA records

The Singapore Government Scholarship (SGS) gives you the opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies at a reputable university. Upon the completion of your studies, you will embark on a rewarding career and play an integral role in protecting our country, loved ones and way of life in one of the Home Team departments – the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, Singapore Prison Service or Central Narcotics Bureau.

• Pre-studies allowances e.g. computer
• Return economy class airfare (for those who pursue their studies in overseas universities)
• Sponsorship for exchange programmes (if requirements are met)

For undergraduate study in local universities: 4 years

For undergraduate study in English-speaking countries: 6 years

For undergraduate study in non-English speaking countries: 5 years
