Previously known as the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, the Ministry was officially restructured on 1 November 2012.

At MSF, we are passionate about making Singapore a great place to live in. Working with community and social service partners, we strive to support individuals and families through sound social policies and effective initiatives that target their needs.

OUR SCHOLARSHIPS

We award scholarships to outstanding students who are keen to pursue a career in MSF. Scholars can look forward to challenging and fulfilling careers in the Ministry upon graduation.

4. Singapore Government Scholarship (Mid-Term)

APPLICATION PERIOD

The application periods for the following scholarships are provided below:

MSF Undergraduate Scholarships: 1 September 2018 - 15 March 2019

  • MSF Local Merit Scholarship
  • MSF Singapore Government Scholarship
MSF Undergraduate Scholarships (Mid-Term): 1 September 2018 - 30 April 2019 
  • MSF Local Merit Scholarship (Mid-Term)
  • MSF Singapore Government Scholarship (Mid-Term)

CAREERS AND DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY(S)

1. Management Track
Officers on the management track will be groomed for leadership positions in MSF and they can enjoy postings within MSF and Civil Service to gain exposure.

Candidates can pursue most disciplines of undergraduate studies to cater to the work in various divisions in the Ministry.

2. Specialist Track
Officers on the specialist track will take on work in the direct practice of social work and psychology, and can expect postings to agencies in the social service sector for ground exposure. Those with strong leadership potential can eventually assume key positions in MSF and the social service sector.

Candidates should pursue a degree in the following disciplines:

  • Social Work
  • Psychology
