A career in the Foreign Service alternates between Singapore and overseas postings in one of our 50 missions around the world. With the ever-changing global political landscape, no two days are the same.

As a Foreign Service Officer, you represent Singapore on the international stage, safeguarding and advancing our nation’s interests. This includes analysing global developments, giving policy advice, negotiating international agreements, organising high-level visits and meetings, as well as assisting distressed Singaporeans overseas.

Our operations span across 50 Overseas Missions worldwide and postings abroad are integral to the job. Throughout your career as an FSO, you will alternate stations between Singapore (HQ) and our Overseas Missions. You will be expected to pick up new knowledge with every rotation and will have the opportunity to work and live in diverse social and cultural environments.
