AGO

The Auditor-General’s Office (AGO) is an independent organ of state and the national auditor. AGO conducts various audits, including checking on adequacy of internal control systems and ascertaining whether there has been excesses, extravagance, or gross inefficiency leading to waste in the use of public funds and resources.

OUR SCHOLARSHIPS

AGO plays an important role in enhancing public accountability and governance in the public sector. AGO checks on the proper accounting of public monies and use of public resources through various types of audits. Our observations include system weaknesses, non-compliance with control procedures or legislation, and instances of excess, extravagance, or gross inefficiency leading to waste in the use of public funds and resources.

APPLICATION PERIOD

Application from 1 September 2017 to 15 March 2018.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply through PSC Gateway and indicate ‘Auditing Service’ as your first choice of service and ‘Accountancy’ as your course of study.

CAREERS AND DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY(S)

AGO scholars will undergo internship with AGO during the period of study.

Upon graduation, scholars will embark on a rewarding career in public sector auditing.

Comprehensive training are designed to develop the skillsets of the individuals to maximise their potential. Job rotation will be provided to expose the scholar to various types of audits undertaken by AGO across different sectors. Through the audits, the scholar can look forward to gaining in-depth knowledge of auditing and financial issues at both the entity level and whole of government level, and develop the skillsets to be a well-rounded public sector auditor.
