Mr Wong first served as a Member of the Education Service Commission from its inception in 1990 till 1998. He was appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission in 1998. Mr Wong has been in legal practice since 1973. He is also a non-executive director of several public listed companies and the Singapore Labour Foundation. Currently, Mr Wong also serves as a Justice of the Peace and Chairman of Home Detention Committee IV. He has been the Chairman of the Bedok Citizens' Consultative Committee since 1989 till 2007. He was awarded the Public Service Star in 1991 and the Public Service Star (Bar) in 2005.
