Mr Wong first served as a Member of the Education Service Commission from its inception in 1990 till 1998. He was appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission in 1998. Mr Wong has been in legal practice since 1973. He is also a non-executive director of several public listed companies. Currently, Mr Wong also serves as a Justice of the Peace and Chairman of Home Detention Committee IV. He has been the Chairman of the Bedok Citizens' Consultative Committee since 1989 till 2007 and a Director of the Singapore Labour Foundation since Nov 2001 till Sept 2010. He was awarded the Public Service Star in 1991 and the Public Service Star (Bar) in 2005.
