Mr Alan Chan

Mr Alan Chan was appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission on 6 September 2010. He was first appointed Group President of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH) in 2002, before he was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2003. He is currently on the boards of SPH and its subsidiaries; Singapore Power Pte Ltd and its subsidiaries; MediaCorp TV Pte Ltd and MediaCorp Press Pte Ltd; and OpenNet Pte Ltd. He is the Chairman of the Corporate Governance Council. Before joining SPH, he was an Administrative Officer in the Civil Service. Some of his appointments included the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Principal Private Secretary to then Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew. He is a President’s Scholar and was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Gold and Silver) for his contributions to the public service.
